An Angel

An Angel was he right from the start,
An Angel is he that will stay in my heart.
An Angel was he while he was at play,
An Angel is he since he passed away.
An Angel was he when his hair I did comb,
An Angel is he now that he's home.
An Angel was he that I would hold,
An Angel is he as these past years still unfold.
An Angel was he always sharing his love,
An Angel is he up in the clouds above.
An Angel was he with a new purchased toy,
An Angel is he full of God's joy.
An Angel was he learning how to make his bed,
An Angel is he doing the Lord's work instead.
An Angel was he just being him,
An Angel is he away from all sin.
An Angel was he to me,
An Angel is he to be.
